Sinópse:

 

ThunderCats foi uma série de animação de grande sucesso, Ela foi originalmente desenvolvida por Rankin/Bass e distribuída por Lorimar-Telepictures em 1983 sob produção da Warner mas só teve sua primeira temporada em 1985 (com 65 episódios), seguido do filme intitulado ThunderCats - HO! em 1986. As temporadas 2 (1987-1988), 3 (1988-1989), e 4 (1989-1990), seguiram o novo formato de 20 episódios cada (embora diga-se que o filme, e a segunda, terceira e quarta temporada sejam comumente agrupadas como apenas a segunda temporada com 65 episódios). Foi baseada nos personagens criados por Tobin “Ted” Wolf. A animação foi produzida por Pacific Animation Corporation, um grupo de estúdios japoneses, incluindo a Topcraft, que mais tarde viria a formar o Studio Ghibli. Um dos destaques era a animação ágil e os roteiros caprichados, que agradavam também o público jovem, adulto e fãs de HQs.
